Need a Chaperone?
All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination, or procedure where they feel one is required. The chaperone may be informal i.e. family member or friend. You may prefer a formal chaperone to be present.
If you would like a chaperone present during your consultation, please advise the administrator when booking your appointment, or when checking in for your appointment.

Ipswich and East Suffolk Community Based Care and Advice Centre
Felixstowe Grove Medical Centre, Grove Road, Felixstowe IP11 9GA
ID Medical has been awarded Level 3 Intermediate Minor Surgery Service, which is a community-based care and advice service for all patients who are over 16 year of age and registered with NHS Ipswich & East Suffolk CCG.
We offer intermediate minor surgery service for larger skin lesions and local anaesthetic surgery and lesions in cosmetically sensitive areas – excluding skin cancer.
Our service is based at a purpose built healthcare centre at Felixstowe and we welcome all patients meeting service criteria to use our minor surgery service.

Key facts
- Our Clinical Lead, Dr Bashar Shatta, and our Minor Operations team, continue welcoming referrals from our Primary Care colleagues
- The waiting time for patients to be seen and treated is currently 2-4 weeks
- We share our patients’ updated care records electronically and securely with GP practices through SystmOne in live time, so patients records are accurate and up to date at any point for reference and optimal healthcare
- We are committed to delivering excellent service and are continually improving it – taking into consideration feedback from patients and practice teams
Referral: Speak to your GP to be referred to this service. Your GP team is able to book your appointment according to your choice of date and time, through the directly bookable service which is available via electronic Referral Service (eRS).
