Bath and North East Somerset (BANES) Community Skin Surgery Service
The overarching aim of the service is to provide local capacity for patients with high-risk lesions such as BCCs (Basal Cell Carcinomas) and/or other non-cancerous and non-malignant lesions requiring surgical removal (where funding approval has been sought and received). Without this service, these cases would otherwise be referred to the Royal United Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
By offering care in a community setting, we ensure patients can be treated faster and closer to home, reducing pressure on secondary care services. This initiative enhances overall BSW capacity for delivering skin surgery to BANES patients.
ID Medical provides a community-based skin surgery service at two convenient locations—Widcombe Surgery in Bath and Hope House Centre in Radstock—ensuring accessible care for patients across Bath and North East Somerset.
Widcombe Surgery is located within a short walking distance from Bath Spa train station. Please note that parking around the surgery can be limited, so we recommend factoring this into your travel time.
Widcombe Surgery, 3-4 Widcombe Parade, Widcombe, Bath BA2 4JT
Hope House Centre in Radstock offers another accessible option for patients in the BANES area, improving overall access to community-based skin surgery.
Hope House Centre, 10 Waterloo Road, Radstock, BA3 3EP
For patient convenience, we offer weekend clinics.
We welcome all patients referred by BANES GP practices who meet the referral criteria.
