We have an exciting new opportunity for a Consultant specialising in Forensic Psychiatry in Nottingham.

Shift Days: Monday - Thursday

Shift Times: 09:00am - 17:00pm

Duties: Includes all aspects of high-quality trauma informed specialist patient care for men in HMP Lowdham Grange, HMP Ranby and HMP Nottingham as required, and from mid-January in HMP Lincoln, extending to HMP Morton Hall in March, as required.
The post holder(s) will provide medical leadership within the integrated mental health team
at HMP Lowdham Grange, and at other sites where clinical care is being provided. To engage in effective trauma-informed communication with multi-professional colleagues.
The role(s) will include assessment (including the assessment of risk), treatment, care planning and multiagency
liaison for people with mental health problems in the prisons.
Undertaking Mental Capacity Assessments.
Liaison with prisons, courts, statutory and non-statutory agencies, concerning all aspects of the mental health care
management of men with mental health problems in the prisons.
To work closely with the Manager, Psychologists and other lead professionals to provide clinical leadership and ensure
safe, supportive care.
To liaise closely with other medical, clinical and managerial staff to provide high quality care pathways.
Participation, when relevant, in the ACCT (self-harm / suicide prevention) processes.
Practice in accordance with NICE and other relevant Guidelines and NHFT Trust policy.
Accurate record keeping according to Trust and professional guidelines (data protection legislation and information
governance standards).
Application of the Mental Health Act including sections 48/49 and 47/49.
To support onsite clinical supervision of Mental Health Advanced Clinical Practitioners and non-medical prescribers working across NHFT Secured
Services in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
