Role Details:

This is a 10PA post comprising 8PA of Direct Clinical Care (DCC), 1PA of supporting professional activity (SPA) for CPD and revalidation and 1 SPA (to be agreed) which may include subspeciality leadership, service development, governance or other agreed responsibilities. The role includes a mix of inpatient and outpatient respiratory care with approximately 6/10 weeks allocated to ward cover and 1/10 week to the respiratory procedural ward (RPW) leaving 3/10 to support outpatient and other clinical activity.

Delivery comprehensive respiratory care across inpatient wards and outpatient clinics, including the assessment and management of a broad range of respiratory conditions. The roles includes participation in the out of hours respiratory on call and the weekend rota (current 1:10) with on call commitments typically delivered onsite during working hours and supported off site where appropriate in line with Trust arrangements.

You will also need to contribute to procedural services, therefore competent in pleural procedures, bronchoscopy and/or endobronchial ultrasound would be advantageous. Lastly, you will also provide clinical supervision for doctors in training and contribute to the teaching of medical students from Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
