Band 8a Sonographer
We have a new opportunity for a Band 7/Band 8a Sonographer in Guernsey.
Here are the key details to consider for this role:
- Contract date: ASAP – Ongoing
- Shift: Full-Time/ Ad-Hoc
- Duties: To work as an independent reporting sonographer performing exams to a very high standard, formulating stand-alone, concise and accurate reports. The post holder will be primarily based in the radiology department at the PEH and will also rotate to the neighbouring island to run an independent ultrasound service at the Mignot Memorial hospital, Alderney. This out of hospital work will involve solitary working conditions with no immediate radiological support/guidance. You will independently undertake and report all examinations that you are competent in, for example obstetric scanning including first trimester screening, dating scans with Nuchal Translucency accreditation, anomaly and high risk obstetric scans, abdominal, small parts, renal, gynaecological, transvaginal, paediatric, neonatal hips, neonatal heads, DVT’s and preferably also carotid Doppler examination. In addition to being knowledgeable in all aspects of ultrasound you will be expected to deputise the Superintendent Sonographer and oversee the day-to-day organisation in ultrasound in their absence.
