Band 6 PET-CT Radiographer
We have a new opportunity for a Band 6 PET-CT Radiographer in Bath.
Here are the key details to consider for this role:
- Contract date: ASAP – Ongoing
- Shift: Full-Time/ Ad-Hoc
- Days of Shift: Monday to Friday
- Time for Shift: 09:00am – 17:00pm
- Duties: Undertake a full range of Nuclear Medicine and PETCT imaging (routine and
specialised) in line with agreed departmental practice and protocols.
Position the patient, gamma camera and couch or other support, having due
regard to safe lifting procedures and optimum imaging outcome.
Select the appropriate mode of operation for the gamma camera and carry out
the imaging procedure.
Undertake a full range of Nuclear Medicine image processing (routine and
specialized), using the imaging computer and software, in line agreed
departmental practice and protocols.
Check processed images and perform extra views if deemed necessary for
reporting
Carry out image transfer and archiving appropriately
To give oral advice and information courteously and tactfully to patients and
carers.
Select, draw up and measure the radioactivity of individual dose of the required
radiopharmaceutical for each patient study.
Carry out intra-venous administration of radiopharmaceuticals with due regard to
radiation safety.
Administer radioactive substances orally.
Carry out non-imaging diagnostic nuclear medicine studies; including taking
blood for GFR studies
To participate in departmental audits.
Participate in departmental teaching sessions including presentations.
Carry out and check results of quality assurance on equipment in line with agreed
protocols.
Follow departmental procedures for the protection of patients, carers and staff
from radiation hazard, particularly in the case of spills of unsealed sources or
contaminated urine.
Carry out basic life support on patients in the nuclear medicine department
suffering cardiac or respiratory failure, pending the arrival of further help. - Experience: Must have previous NHS experience and classified status.
