The British Medical Journal (BMJ) has launched a petition to Parliament calling for an end to cap on non-EEA medical professional being allowed to work in the NHS.

Current restrictions from the UK’s Home Office for Work Visas are meaning that only a limited quantity of visas are awarded each month, and with the critical demand for medical staff in the NHS there is public protest which we wish to funnel into this petition.

This movement is already supported by NHS Employers, The Royal Colleges of Physicians, Paediatrics and Child Health, Radiologists, Pathologists and Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, as well as the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO) and the British Medical Association (BMA), to name a few!
